Tool overview
Freesolo is listed under AI Infrastructure & MLOps AI tools.
What is Freesolo?
Freesolo Flash is a managed post-training service for engineers and coding agents. It fine-tunes compact models using supervised fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, or distillation, previews the run cost before submission, returns exportable weights, and can deploy the result behind an OpenAI-compatible endpoint.
Best for
Engineering teams training specialized compact models for production workloads
Who is it for?
Decision note
Reviewed the official product, documentation, privacy policy, terms, and contact page. Managed LoRA training, SFT, GRPO, OPD, cost previews, CLI access, API keys, OpenAI-compatible serving, exportable weights, Linkd Inc., U.S. operation, and 2026 launch were confirmed. Standard plan pricing and an affiliate program were not confirmed.
Key features
Fine-tunes LoRA models on managed infrastructure
Supports SFT, GRPO, and on-policy distillation
Shows a cost estimate before a training run
Deploys models behind OpenAI-compatible endpoints
Exports model weights in standard formats
Provides CLI, API keys, checkpoints, and reproducible configs
Use cases
Fine-tune compact models from labeled examples
Train models against programmatic rewards
Distill behavior from a stronger teacher model
Deploy specialized models behind existing OpenAI clients
Retrain routine production tasks at lower cost
Pros
- Combines training and managed serving in one workflow
- Provides pre-flight cost estimates before spending
- Returns portable model weights to the customer
- Supports multiple post-training algorithms
Cons
- Standard plan prices are not published
- Training outcomes still require evaluation and monitoring
- Model and hardware support may vary by task
Limitations
Freesolo does not guarantee that a trained model will be accurate, safe, compliant, or suitable for production. Teams must validate datasets, rewards, evaluation coverage, model behavior, serving cost, security, fallback procedures, and human oversight before exposing outputs to users.

Pricing note
Freesolo uses quoted training-run costs plus token-based serving. The CLI can estimate a run before submission, and cancelled runs are repriced to completed training steps. A homepage example shows a $12 run, but it is not a universal starting price. Confirm the quote for each model, dataset, and algorithm.
